Overview of Guided Tour

 

This section provides an overview of a typical localization workflow and how you can streamline and automate it using Alchemy CATALYST. The example files used within this Guided Tour are found on your Alchemy CATALYST Product CD in the \SAMPLES folder.

This Guide tour has several sections, each one describing a phase of a typical localization process. The phases are as follows:

 

 

Preparing Files: Explains how to prepare file for localization, generating project management reports and securing files to avoid over translations, and how to configure glossary files. Explains what a Translation Toolkit is and some techniques you can use to optimise your localization workflow.

 

Dispatching Files: Provides an overview of the mechanisms that can be used to dispatch translation toolkits to your localization partners.

 

Translating Files: Outlines how a translator will localize the contents of a Translation Toolkit and how they can focus on the precision and accuracy of their translations using the Alchemy CATALYST Glossary tool and Translators Toolbar.

 

Engineering Files: Provides an overview of how to detect and fix common localization bugs that are commonly introduced within the localization workflow. It also explains how to reuse translations from previously translated  and how to extract database content into a Project TTK file.
