Alchemy CATALYST previews first visual tool set for XLIFF
Continuing their technical leadership in XML, Alchemy Software Development previews a visual environment for XLIFF documents

Dublin, Ireland — May 19th, 2003 — Alchemy Software Development has firmly embraced the XLIFF specification with the launch of its add-in XLIFF component for Alchemy CATALYST 4.0. Included as part of an enhancement pack for Alchemy CATALYST 4.0, it is the first commercially available localization technology that supports the XLIFF 1.0 specification.

The purpose of the OASIS XLIFF TC is to define, through XML vocabularies an extensible specification for the interchange of localization information. The specification will provide the ability to mark up and capture localizable data and interoperate with different processes or tools without loss of information. The XLIFF specification provides support for common software and content data formats and is being defined through the collaborative efforts of some of the largest software development companies such as Oracle, Microsoft, SAP and Novell.
