Independent Certified Training now available for industry leader

The Localization Resource Center launches certified training courses for Alchemy CATALYST™ 4.0

DUBLIN – January 21, 2002 – Alchemy Software Development, a world leader in localization technology solutions, and The Localization Resource Center, today launched their certified training course for Alchemy CATALYST™ 4.0. The course is available through the LRC (Localization Resource Centre) based in the University of Limerick, the premiere University in Ireland for graduates within the localization industry.

“On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate which will be recognized by The Institute of Localisation Professionals ”, said Reinhard Schaeler, Course Director and professor at the LRC (Localization Resource Centre) based in the University of Limerick, “additionally, the course will be recognized as partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Certified Localisation Professional (CLP), Grade 1.”

“Professional and independent certification of engineers, testers and projects managers is a strategically important step for the Localisation industry”, said Tony O'Dowd, CEO and President of Alchemy Software Development, “as it positions it on a more professional platform similar to more traditional and established industries such as accountancy and law. Organizations seeking to recruit engineers can now identify graduates with specific and certified skills, ensuring that they deploy Alchemy CATALYST™ in the most optimal way within their localization workflow. Similar to Microsoft's Certified Professional, a CATALYST™ Certified Professional will be highly sought after in the job market.”

Driven by innovation and breakthroughs in translation technologies, Alchemy CATALYST™ 4.0 boosts speed, improves quality and reduces cost for all professionals involved in the localization workflow. It combines secure editing environments for XML/XHTML based applications and web sites with advanced contextual translation memory technology and introduces the fastest and most productive mechanism for translating repetitive text segments, all integrated into a single finely tuned project management environment.

The Localisation Research Centre provides a comprehensive information service to the industry, conducts research and development in localisation and related areas, such as language engineering, organizes regular conferences and meetings; produces a range of publications including Localisation Ireland; and oversees a number of education and training programs.
